Pease Breaks Hoosier Record, Six Hoosiers Advance On Day One
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Things started out very well for the Hoosiers at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. Three Hoosiers had competed and advanced on Wednesday, when Mother Nature took over. Heavy rain and lightning entered the area, forcing meet officials to postpone competition. Three Hoosiers had to wait more than two hours to compete. Drouin Named Great Lakes Region Field Athlete of the Year
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association has announced the winners of the regional coach and athlete of the year awards. Indiana freshman Derek Drouin garnered Great Lakes Region Field Athlete of the Year honors. The rookie high jumper took a Drake Relays title, a Jesse Owens Classic crown, a Big Ten championship and a NCAA Mideast Regional win this season. His season best mark of 2.22m (7-3.25) is the best mark in IU history.

Dickerson Named Freshman All-American
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. *** Designated hitter Alex Dickerson has been named a Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American, Collegiate Baseball Newspaper announced today. Dickerson was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year and a second team all-conference choice this season.

The Poway, Calif., native is the second freshman in as many years to pick up All-America recognition for the Hoosiers. Fellow San Diego area native Jerrud Sabourin was named a Freshman All-American a year ago.
